Now that Monday has rolled around and its back to
business as usual, I sat down this morning and began searching around our
company website. I just wanted to really dive deep into the remaining big events
this year and that’s when I was hit with the inspiration for today’s blog post.
What is branding you might ask? I define it as everything used to
associate or solidify your product or business in the minds of consumers. This
includes taglines, logos, and the product itself. Branding is one of those make
or break components to a business, and I love it because there are so many
possibilities when it comes to creating a lasting impression. Just think about some of your favorite brands and how they’ve managed to attract and sustain your interest and loyalty
over the years.
So what does this have to do with LexEffect? I shall tell you.
This morning it clicked for me that all of our major remaining events, the
Moontower Music Festival and the Bourbon Social are each individually branded;
complete with marketing materials and separate websites. I don’t know why I
didn’t notice this before, but in that moment I realized what my bosses clearly
already understood; this is how you get people’s attention. By taking the time
to dissect events and give them their own identity outside of the LexEffect
brand, you can reach a broader crowd and really show people the lengths that
your company will go to in order to produce a successful event! This is
especially important here because these two events may not attract the same
type of audience member, so different steps must be taken to ensure that they
are promoted in a way that will best get their attention.
And as an intern, seeing this care and dedication is inspiring as
I take baby steps into branding myself!
